Sardis Springs Baptist Church seeks Full-Time Pastor.

Sardis Springs Baptist Church in Athens, Alabama is seeking a full-time, God-called, licensed, and ordained pastor with a heart for evangelism and soulwinning within SSBC and the surrounding community. SSBC is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, following Southern Baptist doctrine, participates in the Cooperative Program and follows the Baptist Faith and Message.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong Christian faith and commitment to Jesus Christ. He should have excellent writing and communication skills, a deep passion for community outreach, and excellent organizational, administrative and leadership skills.

As the leader of the church, he must be committed to creating a vision for SSBC and growing God’s church.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

preaching Sunday morning and evening services

leading Wednesday night Bible study/prayer meeting

visiting congregants in their homes and in hospitals and coordinating visitation

have an individual, disciplined time for Bible study, prayer, and sermon preparation

working closely with and supervising church staff

The church is located on AL Highway 251 in Limestone County, one of the fastest growing counties in the state. Established in 1915, SSBC seeks to share the gospel with a rapidly growing, ever-changing community.

Candidates must have the qualifications given in 1 Tim 3:1-7.
